According to the SMM survey, the weekly production of silicon producers in Xinjiang (accounting for 76% of capacity) was 30,200 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 62%, basically flat WoW. The operating conditions of sample silicon producers in Xinjiang remained stable during the week. Recently, small sample producers reported fewer new orders, with most previous orders already delivered, leading to a slight increase in shipment pressure for small producers.

The weekly production of silicon producers in Yunnan (accounting for 30% of capacity) was 3,895 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 46%, basically flat WoW. The operating conditions of sample silicon producers remained stable. Some operating sample producers plan to cut production and shut down furnaces by the end of the month, and the operating performance in Yunnan is expected to decline further in January.

The weekly production of silicon producers in Sichuan (accounting for 32% of capacity) was 840 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 13%, basically flat WoW. Only a few sample silicon producers in Sichuan were in operation, while some producers outside the sample in Aba and Ya'an regions continued to cut production and shut down furnaces during the week. The overall operating rate in Sichuan showed a slight decline during the week. Due to insufficient downstream demand release recently, the overall inventory situation remained relatively unchanged.

Before the holiday, the black chain is unlikely to see a trend-driven market [SMM Steel Industry Chain Weekly Report].
This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums, with coking coal and coke staging a mid-week rise. At the beginning of the week, financial markets experienced sharp fluctuations, dragging down sentiment in the ferrous chain and leading to a pullback in futures. Mid-week, Indonesia's cut to coke production quotas drove coking coal and coke futures to lead the gains, though the impact was more pronounced on thermal coal, while coking coal's rise was largely sentiment-driven and short-lived. In the latter part of the week, finished products continued their seasonal inventory buildup, and support from the raw material side weakened, causing the entire ferrous chain to pull back. In the spot market, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, purchasing activity slowed down further, with end-users only making limited, as-needed purchases at low prices.
